SOUND BLOCKING ELECTRICAL OUTLET PUTTY PADS

PUTTY PADS: SpecSeal Series SSP Putty Pads are available as a 7.25" x 7.25" x 3/16" or a 9" x 9" x 3/16"  poly release faced pad for protection of recessed electrical boxes and as a through-penetration sealant. The pad is sized to fit a common 1-1/2" deep 4S electrical box.

To install remove release liner from one side of pad.  Align edge of pad to top of box and center pad. Adhere pad to top of box and bring pad down over the back of the box.  Adhering pad to all outer surfaces will create excess material at the corners. Pinch pleat material together and fold against sides of box or trim off as desired. Putty pad must be applied to a uniform depth of 3/16" (one layer of pad) over the exterior surface of box for both 1 and 2 hour applications. Optionally, additional putty may be packed into conduit fittings to prevent the transmission of smoke through the conduit system. Pads may also be used in through-penetrations. Strips of pad may be cut off and packed around penetrants. Pad strips may also be applied to penetrants in a mortar system to create a firestop as well as a cushion to absorb movement due to expansion and contraction or vibration.

ROXUL AFB ACOUSTICAL FIRE BATT MINERALWOOL BOARD

ROXUL products are mineral wool fibre insulations made from basalt rock and slag. This combination results in a noncombustible product with a melting point of approximately 2150°F (1177°C), which gives it excellent fire resistance properties. ROXUL mineral wool is a water repellent yet vapour permeable material.

ROXUL AFB (Acoustical Fire Batt) is a batt insulation product designed specifically for application in wall/floor systems where acoustical performance and fire resistance are the primary concerns. This noncombustible lightweight product has excellent acoustical dampening properties and is dimensionally stable which makes it ideal for friction fit into wall partitions and system applications from party walls to plant/manufacturing walls. The product is chemically inert which means that it will not promote corrosion. The AFB product comes in a number of thicknesses to meet the equirements of both retrofit and new construction applications.

*AFB is interchangeable with Safe N Sound and Comfort Batt.

ROXUL SAFE MINERALWOOL BOARD INSULATION

ROXUL products are mineral wool fibre insulations made from basalt rock and slag. This combination results in a noncombustible product with a melting point of approximately 2150°F (1177°C), which gives it excellent fire resistance properties. ROXUL mineral wool is a water repellent yet vapour permeable material.

ROXUL Safe product is a non-combustible, lightweight and water repellent semi-rigid insulation batt that provides fire stopping and acoustical insulation properties. Specifically engineered and produced as a fire stopping material for commercial, industrial and residential buildings, Roxul Safe can be used for the following applications:

- Perimeter gaps between concrete floor slabs and exterior wall systems,

- Around conduit pipe and duct openings through walls and floor slabs,

- Between fire walls and ceiling slabs.

This product has excellent fire performance properties, such as high melt temperature and low thermal conductivity which means the insulation acts as a shield against fire and temperature. In addition, Roxul products are subject to very little shrinkage in the critical phase of a fire, so the insulation layers remain in place to better prohibit the spread of flame. Roxul Safe is intended to be used in conjunction with a fire sealant to prevent the passage of fire and smoke.

BOSS 826 ACOUSTICAL SOUND SEALANT

BOSS 826 Acoustical Sound Sealant is a one-part, non- flammable, latex based product formulated to reduce sound transmission in all types of wall partition systems. BOSS 826 will achieve a Sound Transmission Class (STC) of 53 when applying it in accordance with ASTM C-919 "Standard Practice for use of Sealants in Acoustical Applications".  To achieve the 53 STC, BOSS 826 should be applied as two beads of sealant at the top, bottom and all perimeter edges.

BOSS 826 is a non-staining, non-migrating formulation that adheres well to most substrates including wood, metal, concrete and gypsum board. BOSS 826 Acoustical Sound Sealant creates a tough, elastic seal against sound, air infiltration (drafts) and moisture.

*BOSS 826 is commonly used to seal the gaps between the floor/ceiling/wall and new framing/drywall/mlv.

METROFLEX RESILIENT SOUND ISOLATION CLIPS

Sound Isolation Clips are used to decouple new drywall from the existing wall studs/ceiling joists.  The Resilient Sound Clips are screwed into the wood or metal studs and hold drywall furring channel in place.  The drywall sheets are then installed over the furring channel which limits the amount of contact between the new drywall and the existing wall/ceiling.  MetroFlex Reslient Sound Clips reduce the amount of sound vibration transmission through the wall/ceiling structure, creating a more sound resistant barrier. SOLD PER CLIP

SKU: 65RSIC

METROFLEX FLOATING FLOOR JOIST ISOLATORS are used to soften the connection between subflooring and the floor joists.  These 2" wide pieces of EPDM rubber are designed to clip onto the bottom of a  stud or joist by friction (no use of a fastener).  Rubber Joist Isolation clips are used primarily in floating floors of home theaters and sound studios to decouple the new floor from the subfloor.
