Sound Blocking Putty Pads

SOUND BLOCKING ELECTRICAL OUTLET PUTTY PADS

PUTTY PADS: Metacualk Putty Pads are available as a 7.25" x 7.25" x 3/16" poly release faced pad for protection of recessed electrical boxes and as a through-penetration sealant. The pad is sized to fit a common 1-1/2" deep 4S electrical box.

To install remove release liner from one side of pad.  Align edge of pad to top of box and center pad. Adhere pad to top of box and bring pad down over the back of the box.  Adhering pad to all outer surfaces will create excess material at the corners. Pinch pleat material together and fold against sides of box or trim off as desired. Putty pad must be applied to a uniform depth of 3/16" (one layer of pad) over the exterior surface of box for both 1 and 2 hour applications. Optionally, additional putty may be packed into conduit fittings to prevent the transmission of smoke through the conduit system. Pads may also be used in through-penetrations. Strips of pad may be cut off and packed around penetrants. Pad strips may also be applied to penetrants in a mortar system to create a firestop as well as a cushion to absorb movement due to expansion and contraction or vibration.

ROXUL AFB (Acoustical Fire Batt) Mineralwool Board

ROXUL AFB ACOUSTICAL FIRE BATT MINERALWOOL BOARD

ROXUL products are mineral wool fibre insulations made from basalt rock and slag. This combination results in a noncombustible product with a melting point of approximately 2150°F (1177°C), which gives it excellent fire resistance properties. ROXUL mineral wool is a water repellent yet vapour permeable material.

ROXUL AFB (Acoustical Fire Batt) is a batt insulation product designed specifically for application in wall/floor systems where acoustical performance and fire resistance are the primary concerns. This noncombustible lightweight product has excellent acoustical dampening properties and is dimensionally stable which makes it ideal for friction fit into wall partitions and system applications from party walls to plant/manufacturing walls. The product is chemically inert which means that it will not promote corrosion. The AFB product comes in a number of thicknesses to meet the equirements of both retrofit and new construction applications.

*AFB is interchangeable with Safe N Sound and Comfort Batt.

ROXUL SAFE MINERALWOOL BOARD INSULATION

ROXUL products are mineral wool fibre insulations made from basalt rock and slag. This combination results in a noncombustible product with a melting point of approximately 2150°F (1177°C), which gives it excellent fire resistance properties. ROXUL mineral wool is a water repellent yet vapour permeable material.

ROXUL Safe product is a non-combustible, lightweight and water repellent semi-rigid insulation batt that provides fire stopping and acoustical insulation properties. Specifically engineered and produced as a fire stopping material for commercial, industrial and residential buildings, Roxul Safe can be used for the following applications:

- Perimeter gaps between concrete floor slabs and exterior wall systems,

- Around conduit pipe and duct openings through walls and floor slabs,

- Between fire walls and ceiling slabs.

This product has excellent fire performance properties, such as high melt temperature and low thermal conductivity which means the insulation acts as a shield against fire and temperature. In addition, Roxul products are subject to very little shrinkage in the critical phase of a fire, so the insulation layers remain in place to better prohibit the spread of flame. Roxul Safe is intended to be used in conjunction with a fire sealant to prevent the passage of fire and smoke.
