THERMAFIBER K-FAC 19 HIGH TEMPERATURE BOARD

Thermafiber K-FAC 19 high temperature board provides high strength stability and excellent workability.  It is composed of mineral fiber and selected mineral additives.  The density allows K-FAC 19 to meet a variety of installation requirements.  K-FAC 19 is made with an organic binder that will dissipate above approx 475°F and allows for easier low temperature handling. 

On initial start-up, heat rise should not exceed 15°F per minute to allow the binder to dissipate without excessive temperature rise.  This will occur only on the first startup and will not adversely affect the insulation value. 

An inorganic binder system allows K-FAC 19 to be used at service temperatures to a maximum of 1900ºF on the hot surface of the enclosed panel.  K-FAC 19 is not to be subjected to direct flame impingement as a hot face material.   K-FAC 19 has a special additive that provides water repellency so that the board will not absorb moisture from adjacent refractory materials.

IIG THERMO-12 GOLD CALCIUM SILICATE PIPE & BOARD INSULATION (CAL-SIL)

DESCRIPTION:

Thermo-12 Gold is a pre-formed, high temperature, abuse-resistant pipe and block insulation with exceptional structural strength, composed of hydrous calcium silicate (Calsil) for use on systems operating up to 1200°. It is inorganic, noncombustible, asbestos-free and meets or exceeds the physical and thermal property requirements of ASTMC533, Type 1. Integral to Thermo-12 Gold is, a distinctive formula and process that inhibits corrosion to outside surfaces of pipe and equipment.

Pipe and Board

Thermo-12 Gold is especially recommended for use in the petrochemical, power generation and process industries where piping and equipment operating up to 1200°F. The corrosion inhibiting properties are not diminished by heating and cooling so the corrosion protection will continue for the life of the product. Thermo-12 Gold will not burn and may be used for fire protection in some applications.

IIG SUPER CALTEMP GOLD 1700 CALCIUM SILICATE BLOCK INSULATION

DESCRIPTION:

Super Caltemp Gold 1700 block insulation is an inorganic, noncombustible material. Chemically, Super Caltemp Gold 1700 features a Xonotlite crystal structure that results in exceptional strength and extremely low water of hydration. Super Caltemp Gold 1700 is composed primarily of lime, silica and reinforcing fibers. The product is gold, essentially dust-free, and contains no asbestos.

APPLICATIONS:

Applications include curved vessels and large diameter pipes, fire proofing of structural steel, and as refractory backer in furnaces, boilers and kilns. Super Caltemp Gold 1700 may be double layered in the field for greater thicknesses. Since Super Caltemp Gold 1700 possesses high strength as well as exceptional insulation qualities, it can be readily machined.

IIG THERMO-12 GOLD MITERED FITTINGS AND ELBOWS

DESCRIPTION:

Fitting Covers are manufactured from Thermo-12 Gold mitered into precision segments adhered with CalFab™ adhesive for a permanent bond. These fit any standard butt welded, long or short radius 90 degree and 45 degree elbows found in normal piping schemes.

It is inorganic, non-combustible, asbestos-free and meets or exceeds the physical and thermal property requirements of ASTM C533, Type 1. APPLICATIONS:

IIG CALCOAT 127 CAL-SIL HIGH TEMPERATURE INSULATION CEMENT

DESCRIPTION:

CalCoat-127 is a proprietary blend of hydraulic cement, calcium silicate and inorganic mineral fibers, with corrosion inhibitors, that provides a smooth finish over high-temperature insulation. No wire mesh is required. It can also be used as a general-purpose insulating cement, as it is easy to trowel and resists wetting after initial application. One bag will cover a minimum of 30 sq. ft. at 1" thick. CalCoat-127 can be painted with water- or oil-base paints.

APPLICATIONS:

Due to its composition and low thermal conductivity, CalCoat-127 is recommended for finishing use with calcium silicate or perlite insulation in high-temperature piping and equipment applications. Because of its corrosion inhibiting properties, it is especially recommended for industrial processing and power generating facility applications using stainless steel piping and operating at temperatures up to 1200°F.
